Preliminary Schedule July 25, 2000

1.30pm – Golf Club Parking Lot – Assemble the dressed bicycle entrants.

1.45pm – Parade commences to Echo Park – Police escort.

2.00pm – 2.15pm – Judging of the dressed bikes.

2.15pm – First Softball Game.

2.15pm – Soccer Shoot-out & Basketball Foul Shot Contests start.

2.15pm – Children´s´ Three Leg Races.

3.00pm – Children´s Egg & Spoon Races.

3.00pm – Start of refreshment service.

3.45pm – Children´s Balloon Races.

3.15pm - Second Softball Game.

4.15pm – Tug of War.

4.15pm – Third Softball Game.

5.00pm – End of program.

Obviously, we won´t keep to schedule, so I have left slack at the end – we should finish by 6.00pm at the latest, unless we get more teams/children than we expected.


Family Fun Day – Volunteers

  1. Dressed Bike Parade
    Assemble the parade at the Golf Club, by age group, and to re-assemble them in line in the Park for judging and judge the winners.

  2. Art Contest
    To Judge the entries. Volunteer – Sheila King, 692-6281

  3. Children´s Field events
    To arrange the races by age group, identify winners.
    Volunteers – Ken & Hiromi McPhail, 692-3384, Mary & Brian Findlater, 692-4926.

  4. Foul Shooting contest
    One volunteer to pass the ball to the thrower, one to return the ball to the foul line and keep record of baskets scored.

  5. Soccer shoot – out
    One volunteer to pass the ball to the kicker, one to return the ball to the penalty spot and keep record of goals scored , and a goalkeeper.

  6. Tickets and Cash table.
    Give out tickets and change, etc. possibly sign up new members.

  7. Prize Table.
    Control the prizes.

  8. Bar – B – Q.
    Cook, serve and collect tickets.

  9. Set- up and volunteers at large.

Family Fun Day – Prize Distribution

Dressed Bike Competition and all Field Events.

First, second and third prizes in the under 7, 8 – 11 and 12 and over groups.
Winners to pick freely from the prize tables

All participants to receive a small prize from the participation table.

Softball Tournament.

Winning team receives one of the Choice Vintners Gift Certificates and the two baseball caps for Team Captain and Most Valuable Player, selected by the team.

Runners up to receive the other Choice Vintners Gift Certificate.

Foul Shooting and Soccer Shoot-out.

Winners to have the pick of the prize tables.

Participants to get a small prize from the participation table.

We need to find a good use for the Subway Free Family Meal certificate, and a method of distributing the 100 $1 rebate tickets from Subway.
