The following letter was sent by Councillor Scott Moffatt as an update to the meeting held in January to address water drainage issues within our community:
Apologies for the delay in providing this update. Obviously, with the meeting being held in January, staff haven’t been able to action any items over the last two months. However, I have been in contact with a local surveying company about conducting a proper survey of the entire development to get accurate information on grading. Coupled with the input provided by residents, this should give us a good picture of where the source of the issues are.
With the spring freshet around the corner, I plan to come out and have a first-hand look throughout the spring to get an up close look at some of the issues. Staff will be doing the same. Therefore, over the next two months, as the snow melts, we’ll be monitoring the issues that were raised at the community meeting. We have approximately 20 different addresses where concerns were raised. In that time, I’ll also reach out to the golf club regarding the concerns raised with their property. I will also arrange a time for Forestry staff to come out and look at the issues regarding drainage along the rear of the Clingin Lane properties that back onto Aston Woods.
I’ll keep you posted on updates as we move forward.
