Carleton Golf and Yacht Club has invited the CGYHA Community to join in their annual Easter Brunch event!
There will be a delicious feast featuring a build-your-own omelette station, Chef-carved roast beef, cedar plank salmon, chocolate fountain and much more. Check out this year’s menu for all the details.
There will also be an Easter egg hunt for the kids at noon, and reservations can be made anytime between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

On Saturday and Sunday, don’t miss stops #13 & #14 – both are at the corner of Fairway /Marina Drive, within our Carleton Golf & Yacht neighborhood. Come see what is being created just around the corner of your own home!
At stop #13 (1304 Fairway Dr), acclaimed oil painter, B Jane Magee, hosts Czech potter, Barbora Balaban, and precious gemstone jeweler, Hélène Watelle.
Next door at stop #14 (6648 Marina Dr), potter Lara Charlebois features her intricately underglaze-painted plates and bird bowls, and hosts three artists: digital collage art by Moira Law; copper jewelry by Wendy Southin, and paintings by former CGYHA resident, Pat Carbonneau.
The Discovery Tour is a great opportunity to meet local artists and artisans – more than 35 participants at 14 stops all within an 8 km radius of North Gower.
Tour participants include visual artists in all media; potters, nature photographers, jewelers, blown & stained glass makers, sculptors and textile artists. Some will offer demos. North Gower Food Bank donations are welcome.

The Carleton Golf & Yacht Club are inviting neighborhood women to participate in our Ladies’ Member-Guest Golf day on Friday, July 15, 2016. Only a limited number of spots are available. Registrations will be accepted starting June 13th on a first-come first-served basis until the event is sold out.
Funds raised will be donated to Hospice Care Ottawa. Recognizing the monetary needs of this very worthy charity, our goal is to make a significant donation which we can only accomplish with the generous support of women like you. I have personal experience with these services and can’t stress enough the caring professionalism we encountered.
Registration forms for non-members are available at Carleton Golf Pro Shop or Office and also at our community mailbox. Cost is $100 per golfer including golf, cart, lunch, dinner and prizes payable by credit card or cash. You can sign up as a foursome or individual and we’ll match you up in groups. “Women on a Mission” hosts a charity Golf Tournament in support of Arise and Shine Uganda. The success of this Charity Golf Tournament relies on the generosity of individuals and organizations and would not be possible without community support .
Registration (includes green fees, golf cart, dinner and a TON OF FUN)
– CG&YC Members: $80 (green fees waived by Carleton Golf & Yacht Club)
– Non-members: $125
On July 31st, 2016, twelve “Women on a Mission”, including neighbour Linda Farr and her daughter Michelle, will travel to Jinja, Uganda to offer some love, support and much needed supplies to an orphanage that cares for 27 beautiful children.
Please join the “Women on a Mission” by coming out to golf on June 26th, 2016.

HELP CELEBRATE CAREGIVERS IN YOUR COMMUNITY
The Champlain Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) is currently accepting nominations for the 2015 Heroes in the Home Caregiver Recognition Awards.
These awards are presented to family members, friends, volunteers and health care professionals whose kindness and commitment allow people to live full lives in their communities, despite the limitations of age, illness or disability.
HOW TO NOMINATE A CAREGIVER
Say ‘thank you’ to a caregiver you know by nominating them for a Heroes in the Home award. The deadline for nominations is February 27, 2015.
