Santa Party & Horse Drawn Trolley RidesSanta 2015

We had a great turnout at our Santa Party at the CG&Y Clubhouse, including a visit from the Jolly Old Elf himself!

Kids enjoyed making marshmallow snowmen, colouring pages and face painting. Everyone shared some holiday cheer with snacks and refreshments.

Two of our students focused on the importance of giving by selling their handmade Christmas crafts and greeting cards and raising $50 for Welcome Box.

The party was followed by horse-drawn trolley rides through a circuit in the neighbourhood. The entire event felt a lot like Christmas despite the warmer temperatures and lack of snow.

Thanks to the staff at Carleton Golf & Yacht, The Scharfs and their horse team, St. Nick, our helpers – Grace and Piper and our Events Director, Denae Moores, who put on such a wonderful event.

CGYHA Street Party & 50/50 Draw Winner

Posted on

Our Annual Street Party, although a bit soggy, was quite successful. Neighbours came out sporting rain gear and their “Street Spirit Colours”. Due to transitory attendance through the event, it became impossible to declare a street with the “best” attendance. Special mention goes to Gerard and Betty who ensured their Rideau Valley Drive yellow was clearly visible.

Kids enjoyed tattoos, facepainting and an obstacle course race. Team 1 won points for finding creative ways around the “no hands” rule with the water balloons. Team 2 won the race by getting the most water balloons to their bucket and were very patient and helpful with the youngest participants.

50/50 Draw: the winning ticket is 514461. A total of $150 was collected with 1/2 going to YOMA. Please email denae.moores@gmail.com to claim your prize.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

To YOMA volunteers who sold tickets and informed our community about their organization.

To our sponsors: Robinson’s Your Independent Grocer, Star Toilets & Septic Pumping, Miller’s Farm & Market & V’s Cupcakes.

To all our neighbours who came out despite the weather.

To all our set-up and tear down volunteers and to Andrew and Brent who barbecued in the rain.

And especially to our Events Director, Denae Moores who did such a wonderful job coordinating refreshments, food, bbq equipment, tents, games, prizes and more!
